November is halfway over, and we’re planning for the rest of the calendar year! We have three holiday events we’re participating in this year:
Operation Elf
Last year, we collected a fantastic number of books for children of incarcerated parents, and we’re happy to help out again this year! More information is available at the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office website. We have three ways you can donate through The Company of Books, now through December 16th:
- Purchase kids’ books in our store that we will provide to the Sheriff’s Office.
- Choose an amount for the Operation Elf, and we will pick out books in that amount to donate.
- Drop off kids’ books specifically for Operation Elf, and we will pass them along with books purchased in the store.
Shop Small Crawl (Sat Nov 27th, 10am-6pm)
The Del Ray Business Association is promoting this shop local event! There will be more information at Visit Alexandria online. We’ll have 10% off all regular priced items in the store…including our gift certificates (a great way to support a local business, show some love to a local bookworm, and save some money)!
Holiday Sip and Shop (Thu Dec 9th, 6pm-9pm)
Didn’t make it to the Saturday event? Still need gifts/books? We have you covered! We’ll be staying open late for wine, hot chocolate, tea, and cider, and shopping! The 10% discount will be back (still including gift certificates), and we’ll see what else we come up with before the end of November (will update here once we have it figured out). More information will be available regarding the shops participating at the Visit Alexandria website.
